The Core of the ANDRITZ Küsters Wetlaid Technology

The
comprises of the following components:

Mixer pump
Pipes
Distribution system
Headbox
Inclined wire part with dewatering box
The Principle
A large volume of water flows from the tank by way of a mixer pump and special connecting pipes through the distribution system into the headbox.
The water flows through the wire part back into the tank.
The fibres settle on the wire and are carried to the next machine, whereas most of the water remains in circulation.
With a 2 metres wide production line the flow rate, depending on the properties of the fibres, stands at about 50,000 l/min. The fibrous material carries a water volume that is approximately four times the own dry weight of the fibres.
The suspension is routed through a distribution system under homogeneous pressure and flow conditions, without the suspension undergoing an irritation or a demixing. Due to the pressure build-up in the headbox the suspension is directed in a controlled manner to the inclined wire part.
A special option is a double headbox for two layers of suspension. The advantage of this system is that fibres from different materials or blends can be deposited layer by layer. This induces a mingling of fibres between the layers, so that both layers are entangled without auxiliaries.
