Technical Center: Research & Development
The offer to use our Technical Center for own tests and developments has been met by our customers with great interest. This is because here we make it possible for our customers to pursue product development on individually configured calenders and wet finishing lines.
Andritz Küsters also possesses a complete wetlaid laboratory line since August 2007.
In Krefeld three pilot calenders (300 mm roll width), an ultrasonic laminating calender (300 mm roll width) and one production calender (2000 mm roll width) are currently available on a surface area of over 600 square metres, plus a large selection of engraved, smooth and elastic rolls.
The Technical Center is equipped with kissroll applicator, padder and cylinder dryer, as well as with a measuring unit for inline detection of stripe applications for trials in wet finishing of nonwovens.
The wetlaid laboratory line (300 mm) comprises of pulper, fabric vats for two layers, round distributor, headbox, inclined wire part and 6-cylinder dryer, including winder. The arrangement of the components on a rail system provides for a flexible extension and modification of the installation.
A team of competent process engineers offers optimal conditions for trials and test series – naturally strictly confidential, as regards trials and their results! It is, of course, understood that during such development projects no competitor is allowed to enter the Technical Center installations. Naturally, for the sake of protecting the customer, special arrangements and the use of patents can be contractually agreed upon.
